Living with older dogs

Living with older dogs
Jet Cavoodle is turning 8 years old in a couple of weeks.  While he was growing up I never thought about him becoming an older dog, in my mind he's still a puppy. People are often surprised how old he is when I tell them. He still a crazy puppy at times.

Jet Cavoodle's Instruction Manual - Leaving your dog to go on holiday
Have you ever left your dog with somebody overnight or perhaps for the weekend? Dread the thought? I knew from the get go Jet Cavoodle was going to be highly mobile puppy. I went all CSI on Jet's vomit!

I went all CSI on Jet's vomit!
Recently I got home after being out for 4 hours (not unusal) and found dirt all over the living, dining room, kitchen and bathroom floors. After looking around I found the source behind a pot plant in our lounge room.  Dirt every where.  Jet Cavoodle even decided a little tour of the shower was needed and left the foot prints behind as peice of evidence number 2.

How to clean dog's ears and keep them infection free

How to clean dog's ears and keep them infection free
Do you use an ear cleaner?

When Jet Cavoodle was very little his Vet Aunty Melanie told us to using an ear cleaning solution every single time he gets wet.  She recommended Epiotic, though I do know there are many brands of ear cleaner available.  She said it would keep his ears clean and should help reduce the possibility of ear infections due to his floppy ears.  I'm happy to say it's worked, he hates it, but it's worked.  So far in seven years not one single ear infection and he's been to the beach every week of his life, sometimes more than twice.
