In keeping with the tradition of taking some cool photos on Jet's birthday each year I decided to do a birthday shoot this year and while I don't have a big girl camera at the moment I made do with my panasonic compact camera and I hope you like the results. I always have fun practicing my photography and while I'm sure Jet Cavoodle rolls his eyes at me with some of things I get him to do, it certainly makes Jet concentrate and uses up lots of energy - which is always good.
At MyOodle.com we strongly encourage adoption and re-homing of any dog, especially Oodles. I know there was lots of reasons why dogs are given up and I'm not here to judge, though I do think in this case Benji got the last laugh and cuddle. Recently, I asked Rebecca if she would send me a photo of her Peek-a-poo so I could show off some different types of Oodles on the MyOodle facebook page. What I didn't expect to receive was a heart warming oodle adoption story. After hearing a small piece of Benji's story I asked Rebecca to tell me more and this is how she replied.
Our recipe this month comes from Guest Michelle & Hugo Oodle who are part of our MyOodle family, thanks Michelle for sending in your recipes and some great photos. She made some of these recipes for Cup Cake Day last year, I wonder what will be on the menu this year?
Oodle is one of the most well traveled dogs I know, so we've got a bit of experience under our belt and I thought it might be helpful to tell you how we got him from A to B, including some of the funnier stories along the way. I'll start with domestic dog travel because, well, it’s just so much easier. Rules in each country vary, today I’ll be talking about domestic travel in Australia.
Recently while I was in Australia visiting family I hosted an Oodle Outing on the Sunshine Coast in Qld - my home town. The Buderim Dog Park is excellant location to meet up with other dogs as there are two secure areas, one for small dogs and the other for larger dogs. We generally meeting in the small dog area as so far most of our Oodles have been of the smaller Spoodle, Cavoodle, Moodle, Schnoodle varieties.
Gong Xi Fa Cai - Happy Lunar New Year from Jet Cavoodle in Singapore!
Recently we needed to throw out one of Jet Cavoodle's dog beds which was inconvenient and annoying...it wasn't very old and it would need to be replaced. Finding some products (especially exactly the ones I want) in Singapore can be difficult. Often it's not because the products aren't available it's just that I'm not sure where to get things and often end up spending heaps of time and taxi money looking around before I find what I want. So when Jet's bed needed replacing I got to thinking...did I have anything at home I could make a new bed, reduce time, costs and fulfill my new year's resolution of doing more with less.
MyOodle.com and Lemongrass House have again partnered to bring you this new product, it will making training your puppy so much easier. MyOodle Dog Repel Spritzer is exclusive to MyOodle.com, it's an essential tool if you are a new puppy owner. I used to make this spray at home when Jet Cavoodle was very young, a very good friend gave me the recipe. It contains all natural ingredients including some beautiful essential oils, humans will love the smell but your dog will hate it.
Today saw our first Therapy Dog's Singapore visit for 2014, we visit the nursing home which is a ten minute drive from home. Jet Cavoodle was quite interesting today, it appeared he remembered from our previous visit, that food was included as part of our visit. I take his kibble in a snap locked bag so the residents can feed him. This also encourages Jet Cavoodle to get nice and close to the residents so they are able to have a pat. Many of the residents sit in wheel chairs so it's often difficult for Jet to get too close. As soon as we came across a resident in a wheelchair he looked at me and started licking his chops.
